The Current Condition

Fifteen years of civil war left the nation of Nicaragua devastated. You may remember when the U.S. backed Contras fought the communist Sandinista government. The conflict ended in 1990. Just as Nicaragua struggled through its birth pangs it was dealt another horrendous blow. Hurricane Mitch literally destroyed the national infrastructure and caused the death of thousands. Although Nicaragua boasted a more stable government, it is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. The “Transforming Nicaragua Initiative” vision is for Nicaragua to experience a Godbreathed transformation as we focus on five vital areas of society. By changing the spiritual climate, the church can have an impact in the marketplace to include: Business Community, Health Care, Education, Government, and the Arts and Media.

The Transforming Love of Jesus!

The town of Bluefields, Nicaragua is a town filled with poverty and despair. Most children, left to their own devices, would never ‘crack a book’. With over 60% unemployment and a devastating drug and alcohol problem, malnutrition and ignorance are the order of the day. How can children in a lifestyle such as this be expected to learn and prosper to improve the conditions and economic environment of their town? There is a school at Loma Fresca that’s been built and established to train children in the knowledge and love of Christ as well as academically. Tuition for schooling is less than $5.00/month. With your financial backing and financial help from U.S. churches we can supply uniforms (required by the government) and school materials to children who otherwise would opt out of attending school. You are the hope for these children to realize the life transforming power of Jesus Christ!

You Are Their Hope!

What can the future possibly hold for a generation that lives without hope? It has been said that “a nation without hope is like a country without borders”. They have no way of defining themselves and so they live without purpose. Through us, both individually and corporately, Jesus Christ can be their hope. “I am the way, the truth and the life”, Jesus said. He is what they need and only He can establish their borders and ensure their survival. Jesus also said, “Apart from Me you can do nothing”. We see this playing out in Nicaragua.

Will you join with others in bringing Jesus to the people of Nicaragua in a way that establishes them as a country, as nation and as a people enabling them to serve the purposes of God in their generation? Why not you and why not now?

Economic Independence

We equip and train indigenous people, through business owners traveling to Nicaragua, to operate their own businesses. When the spiritual climate changes, the business climate improves also. We plan to have aspiring young entrepreneurs in place to take advantage of this change to transform their lives from poverty and dependence to self-sufficiency and independence. Through equipping and envisioning leaders, Transformation Ministries works with pastors and business leaders teaching them to invite the manifest presence of the Lord to their towns and cities so that these cities can be transformed by the power of God, not through their own plans and agendas.
